Sunrise encourages strong families in many ways:

  • Cafe 5000 provides a donation basis meal every Wednesday night during the school year.  It reaches the community as well as provides an awesome home cooked meal to Awana families and prayer meeting attenders.  While providing thousands of meals each year, there are many opportunities to fellowship as well as to serve.

  • Parenting Class: Each year we offer parenting classes to families in our fellowship using the Growing Kids God's Way materials.

  • Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry has been an ongoing, behind-the-scenes ministry throughout the years.  It is a help in times of need for those in our church family or others that we become aware of.  Either in the giving or the taking, God's hands are in both.

  • Community Groups exist to encourage inside-out change in the lives of God’s people (transformation) by gathering regularly in homes around the county to live life with one another (together)and wrap hearts and minds around the gospel (in Christ).  SBC Community Groups are made up of three key ingredients:

The Word: Central to the Word of God is the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Romans 1:16 says the gospel is nothing to be ashamed of.  Rather, it is the power of God to convict of sin, transform hearts, and generate faith.  The Word will be a key ingredient in SBC Community Groups.

Community: Life is better together.  Acts 2:44 says those who first believed in Jesus were always together and had everything in common.  Unity and generosity characterized their lives.  Community will be a key ingredient in SBC Community Groups.

Mission: How will others “taste and see” if we are not “salt and light?”  Luke 8:1 says Jesus went around showing and telling people the gospel.  Then, in Matthew 28:18, he charged those who believed to do the same.  Mission will be a key ingredient in SBC Community Groups.
